MLP NextGen: Lightning Clash

Cutie Mark/Special Talent: Two crossed lightnings over a shield, because when growing up, he was torn between becoming a Royal Guard like his father Flash Sentry or a Wonderbolt like his father Thunderlane.

I myself consider this my weirdest ship on the show, I suppose. But I adore Thunderlane for some reason and I do want to do something with Flash Sentry, because I actually liked him in the movies. Just not in a ship with Twilight.
So, Thunderlane became a Wonderbolt and during one of their shows in the Crystal Empire, he meets Flash Sentry the Royal Guard. They have a playful race and instantly hit it off. For a long while, they stay in contact in a friendly way, until they meet again and things become... more.
As mentioned above, Clash was always at odds whether to become a Wonderbolt or a Royal Guard. In the end, he becomes a Royal Guard and meets his best friend Damon. At first, Clash is in awe at Damon - not only because he had never-ever met a changeling-dragon hybrid in his life, but mainly so because Damon is the son of the Spike, the greatest hero of the Crystal Empire. Once he gets over that, the two boys basically survive Shining Armor's horrible and murderous training together.
